Hi everyone!

Right now, my life is filled with a variety of activities, and it's even hard to decide where to start. But I'll try 😊

Tea Ceremony and Meditation

For 10 years, I have been practicing tea ceremonies, and for the last 4 years, I've been engaged in tea meditation, which has become an integral part of my life. This practice has radically changed my life and helped me establish a deep connection with myself. Now, I share tea meditation with others and always enjoy watching them open up and return to themselves during this practice.

Tea Hikes

For 8 years, I have been organizing tea hikes in the mountains, combining my love for nature, the mountains, and tea ceremonies. In these hikes, we don't aim to conquer peaks but rather be present in the process, observing our feelings, thoughts, and the life around us. The tea ceremony brings a meditative aspect, making the hikes a path to self-discovery.

Contact Improvisation

Three years ago, I started practicing contact improvisation – an intuitive dance in free form, where people can dance solo or in contact with others. For me, it became an amazing practice for self-exploration, helping me reconnect with myself, learn to express myself, and explore interactions with a partner. Now, I share this practice by organizing weekly dance jams.

NoWay Project

For half a year, I practiced Butoh – a Japanese contemporary dance – which, along with meditations, inspired me to create my NoWay project. In this project, I explore the flexibility of our self-awareness, delving into deep questions like "Who am I?" through movement and dance. This allows us to touch answers through direct experience and self-expression. The NoWay practice has a profound effect on our everyday life, expanding the horizons of perception and bringing a sense of ease and freedom of being.

Individual Sessions

I conduct individual sessions both offline and online, where we can experience joint meditation and discuss you and your life.

About Sergei
A Journey Through Neuroscience and Cognitive Science

My fascination with the human mind began in the realm of neuroscience and cognitive science research. After earning my PhD from New York University, I dedicated my studies to understanding the cognitive algorithms behind our subjective experiences—how curiosity, attention, and choice shape the way we perceive and interact with the world. This deep exploration of the mind laid the foundation for my journey to Bali, where I’ve turned my focus to an equally profound frontier: the interplay between mind and body.

Embracing the Feldenkrais Method

Now, as a full-time Feldenkrais practitioner, I’ve discovered a way to go beyond cognitive function and dive into the beautiful dance between the body and the mind. The Feldenkrais Method has profoundly transformed my own life, helping me to:

  • Relieve chronic back pain,

  • Move with greater ease and fluidity,

  • Achieve more in life with less effort.

This passion has driven me to share the method through teaching in the United States, China, and now here in Bali. I am continually inspired by the potential for movement to unlock new possibilities for health, self-awareness, and wellbeing.

What I Offer

I provide one-on-one Feldenkrais sessions, blending movement and bodywork to create a unique and personalized experience. These sessions are suitable for anyone curious about exploring their health and wellbeing, whether you seek relief from pain, improved physical performance, or simply a deeper connection to your body.

On the new day following the workshop, I feel a depth within myself that I hadn’t noticed before, as I used to get distracted by small things and the hustle around me. It’s precious, touching, and inexpressible with words.
Sergei Melnikov

Tea meditation with Sergei is about total presence in the moment. When all thoughts disappear and only the ritual of the ceremony remains, the perception of tea through the body reaches a new level. Sergei masterfully maintains a field of calm in which a state is created that carries over throughout the day. This is the best possible way to start the day.
Ying

Zhiwei always reminded us during the workshop that “if it's not explicitly prohibited, then it's allowed,” and it was indeed like this throughout the day. It made me feel accepted, free, and embraced.

Sergei brings calm and safety to a space, which I deeply appreciate and why I choose to regularly join his offerings. I feel very relaxed when I attend his tea ceremonies or dance journeys, which often allow answers from deep within me to surface. My whole self feels welcome in Sergei’s presence.

Throughout the workshop, I experienced the physical and mental freedom that comes from reclaiming a sense of agency. It was an amazing experience!
Vladimir

Tea Meditation is what I love. It is a window into a moment of silence and deep focus, where you start to notice what often slips away in the hustle and bustle of daily life.
And it is not just an opportunity to see, but more importantly, to feel — to feel everything happening within and around me here and now, to sense the very life inside and around me.
Meditation with a master opens even more. Sergei is a special master who supports with his presence and attention to each person and every detail of the process. 🙏🏻 It is a rare opportunity to let go of control and, feeling the care and support, dive much deeper. And that is so valuable! Often after such meetings, I find answers, new understandings, and paths for myself. 😌
Echo
Entrepreneur & Proud Mom, China, 33 y.o.
Zhiwei's facilitation is the perfect blend of clarity, simplicity, and fun! In just a few moves, she helped me overcome a long-standing struggle—I can now comfortably lie on my back, something I hadn't been able to do for ages. Her approach not only solved the issue but also gave my body a new sense of ease and balance. It feels like a whole new habit of comfort has been restored!
Hanna Berdnik
2D artist, Belarus, 36 y.o.
For me, tea meditations are a very beautiful and effective tool for working with my state, observing the entire world in a single point, and bringing the mind to a state of calm and clarity.
I first encountered this practice through Sergei, but it didn’t reveal itself to me right away. Over time, it became one of my favorite rituals for balancing the mind.
Tea meditations with Sergei are always a deep immersion in the present moment, and the neutral space he creates during the process enhances the practice and personally helps me dive deeper.
Rachael Madore
Writer and facilitator, 25 y.o.
Sergei is a special being with a powerful ability to be in deep presence. Sitting in ceremony with him was a transformative experience, each time carrying new and unexpected flavours of richness. He is a gentle, attentive, and keenly attuned space holder who promises to be with what is alive, and tend to it as needed. I hold a deep respect for him and would delight to explore the richness of the present moment in any spaces he holds.

FAQ
Contents of the workshop

Q: I want to relax but “workshop” sounds tiring…can I relax without working at all?

A: Yes, but that’s not what we are here for. We do not see life as an alternation between “working hard” and “relax!”. Instead, you can still relax even if you are working, by mindfully letting go of unnecessary efforts. And while you are relaxing, you don’t have to be a bag of potatoes passively laying on the couch or massage bed — you can be relaxed and productive if you are flowing with your life energy. This is what our workshop is for.

Q: I have zero experience with these modalities. Will I still benefit from it?

A: Yes! It’s always best to come with an empty open mind without much assumptions, so you have the full capacity to experience and explore every present moment. That being said, we all have experiences with learning, teaching, socialization, etc. and we all naturally come with assumptions (often unconsciously). For this workshop, the most important thing to bear in mind is to take care of yourself. Don’t do things that make your mind or body uncomfortable. Keep your boundaries. Ask for help from the facilitators and other participants. Taking care of yourself is an ability that grows with experience. And whatever your current experience level is, you will benefit from this workshop.

Q: What is “mindful” relaxation? Does that mean I need to be vigilant and mindful all the time? That doesn’t sound relaxing either.
