🏔 ABOUT THE ROUTE:
It's not just a trip to the mountains — it's a
journey into your heart. 💚
If you sincerely
ask the Mountains a question that lives in your soul,
they will surely answer.
The Mountains always speak to us — we just need to listen… to ourselves.
Agung is the
highest peak on the island of Bali (2850–3031 m, depending on the ascent point). This majestic
active volcano is the most
sacred mountain for the Balinese, and many rituals and ceremonies are dedicated to it.
Our
ascent will begin in the afternoon from a local high-mountain
temple (1500 m). From the parking lot, we’ll climb a long, wide staircase, pass around the temple, and then begin our route.
The first part of the trail winds through a
mountain forest, where the landscape is very different from the equatorial one. There are almost no palm trees, but many rare high-altitude plants and trees covered in moss and lichen.
A magical, fairytale-like forest. ✨
Shortly before
sunset, we’ll reach our
camp (2200 m), where we will pitch our tents. Here, we will hold a
tea meditation. Tea is a wonderful companion — it restores our strength, awakens and relaxes at the same time, and sharpens our
awareness of the
present moment. As we sip, the delicate sound of the
flute will guide us into harmony with the high
vibration of sound.
If the weather allows, we’ll light a fire and
cook dinner together. We will spend the evening contemplating the
stars and the
moon, reflecting on life’s deeper questions.
After waking up at night, we will continue our journey to the
summit, carrying only the essentials and leaving most of our belongings at the camp. The final section of the route is so high that almost nothing grows there, and we will be walking along the rocky slope of the volcano.
This route is designed so that almost anyone with good physical fitness can reach the summit. In addition to an overnight stop, we also take the
shortest path, ascending to the lowest part of the volcano’s crater (2850 m). Moreover, since this is
not the classic route, we will have the mountain almost entirely to ourselves — making the hike quieter and more meditative.
We will reach the summit just before
sunrise, waiting for the first light to emerge from the horizon (weather permitting).
Standing at the highest point, we connect deeply with
Mother Nature. Here, we can set our
intentions, ask for guidance, and seek clarity on situations in our lives.
▶️ WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:
The difficulty level of the hike is
above average. It is important to have camping gear, as well as a flashlight (preferably a headlamp), a raincoat and warm clothes, which are needed not only on the way up, but also for spending the night in the camp, as well as at the top,
because it can be very cold and windy there.
